New Delhi Sep 1 (IANS) The Delhi government on Friday decided to purchase 2 000 standard floor non-AC buses Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said. No buses have been added to the capital s public transport system in the past four years.
Of the 2 000 buses 1 000 will be with the state-run Delhi Transport Corp (DTC) and 1 000 will be cluster buses said Gahlot.
"Purchase of new buses sends a message that the perception that DTC is a dying organisation is wrong " he added.
The cluster buses will arrive in 10 months and DTC buses in 12 months. The Minister said the government was also planning to introduce mini buses.
