New Delhi April 21 (IANS) Aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney on Friday announced that the country s civil aviation regulator has certified its customer training centre in Hyderabad.
This is a major milestone for United Technologies Corporation India (Pratt & Whitney Customer Training Center India) as it allows the company to provide DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) CAR147-approved training to aircraft engineers and technicians from Pratt & Whitney s airline customers in the region the company said in a statement.
According to the company the training centre in Hyderabad -- established to enhance the skills of the work force in India s aviation industry -- is only the third Pratt & Whitney training facility in the world.
Currently there are well over 100 aircraft in India powered by V2500 engines made by Pratt & Whitney and International Aero Engines AG a consortium in which the company has a majority share.
