As it stars Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of Sridevi and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles, the movie had generated curiosity in audience. The film is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat.
Dhadak collected, 8.71 crores first day at the box office on first day, the highest opening for newcomers in 2018. There was a huge buzz around the film ever since it's inception.
