Bhopal: E-Governance excellence awards are given by the Science and Technology department to the departments, offices and institutions delivering best in the field of information and technology every year. Minister for Science and Technology Umashankar Gupta will distribute awards at R.C.V.P. Naronha Academy of Administration and Management at 10.00 a.m. on June 7.

It may be mentioned that these awards were instituted by the Science and Technology department in the year 2006 in order to encourage officers-employees undertaking innovations and initiatives in the field of e-governance. A total of 23 awards in 10 categories will be presented this year including provision of citizens’ services using I.T., improvement in governance, best example of software development life cycle, best project implemented using I.T., mobile governance, best e-governed district, best citizen facilitation centre and use of Hindi in I.T. etc.-WTN
