Kabul Aug 2 (IANS) An explosion occurred near the airport in Afghanistan s Kandahar city with an unknown number of casualties police said.
A suicide bombing took place in Shoorandam locality when a coalition forces convoy was passing Xinhua news agency quoted a police officer as saying.
The site of the incident is close to a military camp and there are reports that a suicide bomber detonated his explosives shortly after the convoy left the camp Khaama Press reported.
