Attracting some of the finest coders around, the hackathon has found immense success in being able to provide them the ideal environment for the conception of innovative ideas and their implementation for real world problems and challenges.
The hackathon enters its fourth edition this year, and as with every passing year, it seeks to attract a wider array of programmers. In this edition, the participants, who can form teams of up to three members, will be presented the opportunity to choose from up to six different domains of problem statements.
This includes entertainment, organisational automation, social, financial technology, education and sports. The problem statements for each domain will be revealed on the day of the hackathon.
The entertainment domain encourages the programmers to build a breakthrough prototype that can be applied in the entertainment industry. For example, enhancing the movie-going experience for the disabled is one such problem that can be given to the developer.
The organisational automation domain focuses on the implementation of machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence to deliver an intuitive and personalized experience to the user of an application.
Programmers with a desire to give something back to the society can opt for the social domain. This can include providing solutions to anything from safety and security issues that plague the neighbourhood. Additionally, those participants with a knack for networking can identify and address a problem faced on social networking sites and apps.
The education sector has witnessed a tremendous growth in recent years, especially with the rise of online courses and video lectures, and the education domain therefore seeks coders who can innovate and contribute further to this booming field.
These days, technology and sports have become inseparable. The likes of goal line technology and hotspot have greatly eased the pressure on the referees and umpires. Coders with unique solutions to their favourite sport can therefore choose the problem statement from the sport domain.
With such an assortment of domains, the hackathon is sure to throw up some interesting solutions to commonly encountered problems. With a whopping Rs. 2,00,000 worth of cash prizes and goodies, as well as awards of distinction up for grabs, besides exciting offers for internships and incubation of selected prototypes by pioneers in the field, the hackathon is a rare opportunity to all the developers and aspiring entrepreneurs out there to showcase their technical prowess on a grand platform.-Windowtonews
