Srinagar March 20 (IANS) A gunfight broke out on Tuesday between security forces and militants hiding in a forested area of Jammu and Kashmir s Kupwara district police said.
Police said militants hiding in the Halmatpora area of Kupwara fired upon a security force party of the army s Rashtriya Rifles and the state police s Special Operations Group.
"A gunfight has now started in the area. Additional security forces have been rushed to the area " a police officer said.
