Shimla Aug 1 (IANS) The hills of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday witnessed moderate to heavy rains which hampered vehicular traffic and the major rivers and their tributaries were in spate.

While Gaggal town recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 181 mm it was 176 mm in Baijnath 116 mm in Palampur and 55 mm in Dharamsala. State capital Shimla saw 53.8 mm rain.

Incessant rains have also caused massive landslides on link roads in Shimla Kangra Kinnaur and Kullu districts.
