Implement PESA Rules Promptly for the Empowerment of Scheduled Tribes - Governor Patel
Governor Holds Discussion with the Officials of Panchayat and Rural Development Department
Bhopal 11 april 2022 : Governor Mangubhai Patel has directed for early implementation of PESA rules for the empowerment of Scheduled Tribes. He said that the draft rules for 89 notified scheduled tribe development blocks of the state should be finalized promptly. All the procedures related to making of rules should be completed by fixing the time limit. Governor Patel was discussing with the officials of Panchayat and Rural Development Department at Raj Bhavan today. The Governor was informed about the proposed Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Provisions Extension to Scheduled Areas Rules 2022. Principal Secretary to Governor D.P. Ahuja was also present.
Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Umakant Umrao told Governor Mangubhai Patel through a power point presentation that provisions related to 12 departments have been made under the proposed rule. He said that the work of making rules has been done on a large and comprehensive level. Sessions of three meetings have been organised at the level of Principal Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development and five at the level of Chief Secretary. The fifth draft of the rule is in the final process. He said that in the proposed rule, various provisions were made related to Panchayat Raj and Village Swaraj Institutions, peace and security, land management, planning and management of water resources, mines and minerals, minor forest produce, control of markets and fairs, moneylender and social work departments - Window to News
