Iranian President winds up Hyderabad visit

Hyderabad Feb 16 (IANS) Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Friday left for New Delhi after two-day visit to this southern city.



Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali and senior officials saw him off at Begumpet Airport in the city.

Accompanied by ministers and senior officials Rouhani had landed here on Thursday on a three-day visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He addressed Muslim leaders and scholars on Thursday night. Rouhani visited Qutub Shahi tombs a historic site on Friday morning.

The visiting dignitary later offered prayers at historic Makkah Masjid in the old city and addressed the congregation.

Winding up his visit he addressed a gathering of Iranians settled in Hyderabad.

In Delhi Rouhani will hold bilateral talks with Modi on Saturday. He will also call on President Ram Nath Kovind.
