Yes, for your information let's know that TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) is considering changing the mobile phone numbering scheme in the country.
According to the information, the TRAI has issued a proposal to use 11 digit mobile number in the country. In fact, TRAI believes that if a 10 digit mobile number is converted to an 11 digit mobile number, it will enable more mobile numbers to be available in the country than before.
Not only this, but the TRAI has also said in its proposal to put '0' before the mobile number while calling a mobile from a fixed line, i.e., land line. For your information, let's know that currently for inter-service area mobile calls from fixed line connection, '0' is required before the mobile number. At the same time, the calling can also be done without putting '0' on the fixed line from the mobile.
TRAI argues that by increasing the mobile number from 10 digits to 11 digits, the capacity of mobile phone numbers in the country will increase to 1000 crores. Actually, TRAI has said in its proposal that if the first digit of the mobile number is kept to 9, then the number of mobile phone numbers in the country will increase to 1000 crores if the mobile phone number is changed from 10 to 11 digits.
At the same time, according to TRAI, if it is mandatory to put zero before calls to mobile from fixed network, all the free sub-levels at level 2, 3, 4, and 6 can be used as mobile number. Not only this, but TRAI has also talked about increasing the mobile number used for dongles from 10 digits to 13 digits. If TRAI's recommendations are implemented, then soon numbers will be changed from 10 digits to 11 digits in the country, and many other changes can be seen in the telecom sectors.
