Michael Scofield is Alive!

29 Mar 2017
It was a heartbreaking moment for fans when the Prison Break finale ended with Michael Scofield dying while helping Sara escape from the women’s penitentiary. But hey! No one saw his dead body or final rites. Which always left a small ray of hope that he would return if at all a new season is filmed. The show was too good to end off in the manner it did. At the time it was nothing but an exciting rumour that circulated among fans and then fizzled out.
Fast-forward two years later and Prison Break: Resurrection is just around the corner, with Fox quite literally bringing Wentworth Miller’s Michael Scofield back from the dead.
The upcoming fifth season of the show picks up seven years after Michael’s ‘death’, as the old gang is brought back together for yet another great escape.
Yet as we know from the previous four seasons, escaping prison is always just the beginning.
The new nine-episode series will air on Monday nights at 9 pm from April 10, but if you simply can’t wait until then, here’s everything we know about the revival.
The show’s original run ended with The Final Break, which saw Michael meet his demise after breaking his wife Sara out of prison. Yet given that his death occurred off camera, and we only ever saw Michael’s grave, there was always the possibility that he didn’t actually die and it was all a bit of a ruse to guarantee his continued freedom. So it’s no surprise that season five sees the escaped jailbird still very much alive.

While we don’t yet know how Michael dodged his apparent demise, we do know that he’s landed himself in prison again (something to do with Daesh) and this time he’s incarcerated in Yemen.
The fifth chapter reunites Sara – who’s moved on with her life and is raising Michael’s son with a new husband – and Michael’s brother Lincoln, as clues surface that prove Michael is alive and, unsurprisingly, in trouble.
With the help of some of the original Fox River Penitentiary gang – including Sucre and C-Note, Lincoln embarks on the show’s biggest escape/rescue mission yet.
It wouldn’t be Prison Break without Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, so of course, they’re both returning as escapee brothers Michael and Lincoln.
Sarah Wayne Callies is reprising her role as Sara, while everyone’s favorite convict with a heart of gold, Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), is joining her for round five.
We also know that Robert Knepper’s despicable one-handed T-Bag will play a part in the upcoming season, as will Rockmond Dunbar as C-Note and Paul Adelstein as former special agent Paul Kellerman.
New cast members joining the series include Augustus Prew (Kick-Ass 2), Inbar Lavi (Imposters), Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains) and Rick Yune (Marco Polo).
The only sad part is that the one character everyone desperately wanted to return was former FBI Agent Alexander Mahone, a man who arguably had the biggest transformative arc of the entire show.
Unfortunately, William Fichtner won’t be making an appearance in the revival.
