Miss America will no longer a “ beauty pageant” but are a competition.
Miss America organization has announced that it will stop judging contestants based on physical appearance. It will also eliminate swimsuit competition. Miss America organization is scrapping the swimsuit competition after it began as a swimsuit pageant more than 96 years ago.
The 2019 Miss America competition will be held on Sept. 9.
