Mumbai Sep 19 (IANS) Torrential rains leading to poor visibility forced cancellation of all flight operations at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport here on Tuesday night till 5 p.m. on Wednesday sources said.
The situation was further compounded by a SpeiceJet Varanasi-Mumbai flight aircraft which skidded and got stuck in the mud after landing blocking the main runway.
Consequently flight operations have been temporarily suspended till early Wednesday morning.
Though details of the number of flights which would be affected are not immediately available a majority could be on international sectors.
Jet Airways has already announced temporary suspension of all its flight operations since late Tuesday night.
