New Delhi Oct 8 (IANS) The National Housing Bank (NHB) on Monday increased its refinance limit to Rs 30 000 crore to make more funds available to eligible housing finance companies.
It had initially set a limit of Rs 24 000 crore this year (July 2018-June 2019) for refinancing eligible institutions.
"Till date Rs 8 835 crore has been sanctioned. This refinancing is a credit flow to housing finance companies and other institutions " an official statement said.
The NHB is the principal agency to promote housing finance institutions in the country and to provide financial support to eligible institutions.
As a regulator it regularly monitors the liquidity position of housing finance companies.
