New Delhi Nov 13 (IANS) State-run power generator NTPC on Monday reported a marginal fall of 2.3 per cent in standalone net profit for the second quarter ending September at Rs 2 444.80 crore.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2 469.47 crore in the corresponding period last year it said in a stock exchange filing.
Revenue for operations during the quarter in consideration rose 1.6 per cent to Rs 19 698.8 crore compared with Rs 19 397.9 crore in the same quarter a year ago on the back of a 7.35 per cent increase in gross power generation.
There was a 1.89 per cent rise in total company revenue during the quarter in review to Rs 19 960 crore over the Rs 19 589 crore in the same quarter of 2016-17.
NTPC s other income in the second quarter grew more than 37 per cent to Rs 261.6 crore from Rs 190.6 crore earned in the same quarter last year.
The company s installed capacity at the group level during the quarter in review reached 51 708 MW up 4 480 MW from the 47 228 MW in the previous quarter.
The NTPC stock closed on Monday at Rs 176.95 a share up Re 0.30 or 0.17 per cent on its previous close on the BSE.
