Ranchi June 7 (IANS) Students of the science stream have performed poorly in the Class 12 board examination in Jharkhand according to the results published by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday with over 50 percent failing.
Only 48.34 per cent students in the science stream and only 67.49 per cent of the students in the commerce could clear the board examination.
Interestingly the names of toppers in either stream have not been released this year. The JAC said it would do so after 15 days.
This year 92 405 students had appeared in the science stream out of which only 44 677 could pass the examination. Of those clearing the examination 16 618 passed in first division securing 60 per cent marks or more.
In Commerce 40 244 students appeared in the examination and 6 127 passed in first division.
