New Delhi Dec 3 (IANS) President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday paid floral tribute to Rajendra Prasad the first President of India on his 133rd birth anniversary a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
"The President family members of Rajendra Prasad as well as officers and staff of the President s secretariat paid floral tributes before a portrait of Rajendra Prasad in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan " it said.
Born in Bihar on December 3 1884 Rajendra Prasad participated in the freedom struggle and after Independence served as President of the Constituent Assembly. He was elected President in 1952 and served till 1962.
