Retrospective show on S.G. Vasudev s art to open in Bengaluru
Curated by art critic Sadanand Menon the retrospective "Inner Resonance: A Return to Sama" will take the viewers through his artistic journey spanning over forty years.
The Bangalore-based artist works with drawings paintings copper reliefs and tapestries.
He is also one of the founding members of Cholamandal s Artists Village in Karnataka. It is a space for promotion of contemporary art and a residential work-centre for artists that took birth in the 1950s.
He gained recognition for his signature motif of the tree of life "Vriksha" that runs across a substantial number of his works.
His artworks have been exhibited at Triennale India Paris Biennale Havana Biennale and India s National Gallery of Modern Art show in Washington among others.
The NGMA s schedule also has a series of outreach activities lined up with the exhibition including Carnatic music recitals film screenings dance events talks and theatre performances.
It will also include a demonstration of painting by Vasudev and an illustrated talk by noted art historian B.N. Goswamy.
The exhibition will draw to a close on September 30.
