New Delhi: Home-grown steel major Tata SteelBSE 0.14 % on Tuesday reported a consolidated profit of Rs 232 crore for the quarter ended December 31. Analysts had predicted a profit of Rs 120 crore in an ETNow poll. 

The Tata group firm had posted a loss of Rs 2,747 crore for the corresponding quarter of last financial year. 

The company’s consolidated sales came in at Rs 29,279 crore compared with estimates of Rs 29,105 crore that analysts had made in an ETNow poll. On a y . IANS
