Kolkata Dec 20 (IANS) Three people have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor pavement-dwelling girl in Kolkata police said on Wednesday.
The girl was kidnapped from a north Kolkata footpath on Tuesday night and sexually assaulted by three men in a van rickshaw the police said.
"The minor girl was recovered by the officers on patrol in north Kolkata s Chittaranjan Avenue on Tuesday night. She was sexually abused. Her clothes were half torn and she had bruise marks on her body " an officer from the Boubazar Police Station said.
"The girl has been admitted to a the Calcutta Medical College. She is stable now " he said.
The police have arrested the three offenders.
"The three persons involved in the case have been arrested and remanded to police custody for 14 days " the officer added.
