Chennai Nov 8 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has started learning Tamil one of the world s oldest surviving classical languages.
Fluent in English Hindi and Marathi Purohit began learning Tamil from a Tamil teacher owing to his love for the language a statement from his office said.
According to Purohit Tamil is a classical and beautiful language and learning it helps one to converse well with people.
A three-time Lok Sabha member from Nagpur Purohit was Managing Editor of The Hitavada newspaper and assumed office as the Tamil Nadu Governor on October 6.
