Two-day NGT regional conference from today

CM Chouhan will be the Chief Guest 

Bhopal: The National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) Central Zone Bench, Bhopal is organizing a two-day Regional Conference on July 29-30 in Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be the chief guest. State Environment awards would also be given away during the conference. National Green Tribunal Chairman Justice Swantantar Kumar, Central Member Justice Dalip Kumar, High Court judges of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Judicial member, Indian Administrative Service officers and subject experts are taking part in the conference.

Technical sessions will be held on “River and Bio-diversity Conservation”, “Conservation of Watershed areas” and “Pollution and Sustainable Development” during the conference. Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Padma Bhushan H.S. Pawar, Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Khandekar, Madhya Pradesh Bio-diversity Board Member Secretary R. Srinivasa Murthy and Admin Staff College of Hyderabad’s Additional Director Achalendran Reddy will take part in the ‘River and Bio-diversity Conservation’ session.

Rajasthan High Court Justice P.S Bhati, Rajasthan Additional Chief Secretary N.C. Goyal, Rajasthan River-Basin Authority Chairman Ram Vedire and Rajasthan Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr. D.N. Pandey will take part in the ‘Watershed area Conservation’ session.

Member of NGT West Zone Bench, Pune Justice U.D. Salvi, South Zone Bench, Chennai Specialist member P.S. Rao, Principal Secretary to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Aman Singh and Chhattisgarh Environment and Housing Secretary Sanjay Shukla would take part in the ‘Pollution and Sustainable Development’ session. There will be a 20-minute open discussion after each session.

Supreme Court Justice A.K. Sikri will be the chief guest and Justice Arun Mishra would be the special guest during the concluding ceremony to be held on July 30.-WTN
