Video conference held on Amrit Mahotsav of Independence

Bhopal 08 March 2021: The first video conference of the committee for organising the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the video conference from Collectorate Bhopal. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed that the 75th anniversary of Independence will be celebrated on 15 August 2023. For this, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence will start 75 weeks prior to the 15 August 2022. During this period, 75 events will be held at 75 different venues.

Home Minister Amit Shah said that this is an introductory meeting in relation to the event. Its aim is to receive suggestions regarding the event. This 75-week-long event is to be given the shape of a mass movement, so that our younger generations can learn about the sacrifices, hard work, dedication and feelings of freedom fighters. The purpose of the event is to introduce lakhs of unsung heroes and heroines of the freedom struggle to the public and to provide recognition to the movements at the local level. The aim of the events is to familiarize the young generation with our golden history and to present what our thinking will be by the year 2047.

The Amrit Mahotsav will be organised on such themes as India-best India, self-reliant India, Vishwaguru Bharat, views, achievements and resolutions, our rich cultural heritage and unsung heroes.
