Chandigarh April 29 (IANS) Surpassing the procurement in 2017 government procurement agencies have procured over 77.5 lakh tonnes of wheat from farmers in Haryana a spokesman of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said on Sunday.
The procurement process which started on April 1 was running smoothly in grain markets.
Sirsa Karnal and Jind districts were leading in wheat arrival and procurement the spokesman said.
Haryana had set a target of wheat arrival of over 75 lakh tonnes this Rabi season.
